Hi! My name is Danette and I am so excited you stopped by my blog!

I am a beauty fanatic- a self proclaimed product junkie. I frequently get asked about my favorite products, and have tried a little bit of everything, so a beauty blog seemed like a natural next step:) My love for trying new things and sharing them with you is the driving force behind this blog. Beauty is my passion- and what led me to start Virago Babe, an eyelash company to fit the needs of EVERY woman!

I own and operate a nationally recognized photography business, and love all things in the vein of fashion photography.  My passion lies in empowering women to feel as beautiful as they are, and see themselves as the world sees them, not as they may see themselves.  I am a licensed cosmetologist and makeup artist.  My makeup and photography skills, mixed with a little modeling experience in front of the camera, have produced the perfect storm in making women feel amazing when they’re in front of my camera.

My faith is firm and grounded in Christ and my family is my rock.  I have been married to my high school sweet heart for 17 years.  We were 17 and 19 on our wedding day, true story!  Our first 9 years of marriage were spent in poverty, barely scraping by while Adam pursued his Ph.D.  Those years have definitely formed who we are and how we see the world.  We have 4 adorable sons that keep us running from hockey to choir to soccer, and everywhere in between!  God has a sense of humor by making this girly-girl an all boy mom, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world!

As Mrs. Virginia 2014 (Mrs. America), I was awarded the high honor of National Ambassador for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS), an organization that is so close to my heart after losing a son 5 months

into pregnancy. It has been an incredible and humbling way to honor the loss of our son Logan, using my gift of photography.
